HITT selected to supply Traffic Control Systems for the Den Helder Region
Second Dutch order for HITT this week

HITT has been notified by the Netherlands Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management (RWS) of their intention to award HITT with an order to design, build and carry out maintenance of the traffic control systems in the Den Helder VTS Region. RWS guarantees that the provisional award of contract will be finalized within 15 days (Alcatel-decree). The system will be realized in 10 months. The order is worth approximately EUR 2.3 million. Earlier this week HITT received a similar notification with regard to the supply of the Vessel Traffic Services for the Noordzeekanaal, worth EUR 17 million.
Den Helder already has a vessel traffic control system which - awaiting the completion of the new vessel traffic control system - is accommodated in a temporary building. This order includes the modernization of the existing system which in the future will be accommodated in the new harbour office Fort Harssen. The order includes the delivery of new work stations with advanced facilities resulting in partly automated operational processes. The VHF and radar systems will be extended and optimized. The vessel traffic control system will also be connected to the coastguard system in order to exchange vessel traffic information.

HITT will also carry out the maintenance of the entire system for a period of approx. ten years.
